01Our Legacy

Five decades in the grain.

Chinnammal Timber began in 1970 as a timber yard on the Sathy Main Road. Three generations later we are still on that road — only now the yard runs to 75,000 square feet and the work runs from raw log to finished room.

We buy at origin, in Burma, Africa, Indonesia and Malaysia, and grade every log ourselves. It is treated, seasoned, milled, machined, pressed and finished under our own roof. When something goes wrong there is nobody else to point at, which is exactly the way we want it.

Doors and windows. Cabinets and wardrobes. CNC screens, panelling, staircases and laminates. If it is made of wood and it belongs in a building, we have almost certainly made it before.

02What We Make

From log yard to living room.

Eight lines of work, one supply chain. Everything below is made or finished in our own Coimbatore facility.

03The Catalogue

Everything we sell, in one place.

10 catalogues, 312 listings — from door leaves and window grills to seasoning services and sawdust by the sack. Open one to see what is inside.

04Precision Work

A tenth of a millimetre, repeated a thousand times.

Our CNC routers cut jaali screens, temple work, ceiling panels, partitions and signage from ply, MDF, solid teak and acrylic. Bring a drawing, a photograph or a rough idea on paper — we will draft it, prove it on a sample and cut the run. Hand-finishing is still done by hand, because a machine cannot feel an edge.

05Materials

Graded at origin. Seasoned at home.

We hold standing stock in the species below. Everything is chemically treated against borer and termite, then kiln-seasoned before it is sold or machined.

Burma Teak

Myanmar

The benchmark. Oily, stable, ages to honey.

African Teak

West Africa

Dense and hard-wearing, deep chocolate grain.

Padauk

Africa / Andaman

Vivid red-orange, exceptionally rot-resistant.

Mahogany

Africa

Fine even grain, takes a mirror polish.

Pine

Indonesia / Malaysia

Light, economical, ideal for painted work.

Rubberwood

South India

Sustainable, uniform, perfect for carcassing.

Sal & Benteak

India

Structural strength for frames and rafters.

WPC

Composite

Zero-water-absorption for wet areas.

06How We Work

Four steps, no handoffs.

01

Source

We buy logs at origin — Burma, Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia — grading each one ourselves before it ships.

02

Season & Treat

Every board is chemically treated against borer and termite, then kiln-seasoned to a stable moisture content.

03

Craft

Machining, CNC work, pressing and finishing happen under one 75,000 sq. ft. roof, by people who have done it for decades.

04

Install

Our own fitters hang, level and hand over — and we are still reachable long after the final invoice.

Seasoned, not shortcut

Kiln-dried and treated in-house. Timber that will not twist, cup or invite borer two monsoons later.

One roof, one accountability

Sourcing, milling, CNC, finishing and installation are all ours. No contractor blame-passing.

Graded at origin

We inspect and grade logs before purchase, so what reaches your site is what we promised.

Priced like a wholesaler

Direct import and our own mill mean trade pricing — on one door or on an entire project.

08In Their Words

What the yard gets told.

Such a modern way of processing and making of woodwork. The pre treatments are done properly to ensure the wood doesn’t get bends and cracks in future. If you are planning to build your home with quality wooden windows and doors, you must get them here. No question about it!

10Questions

Things people ask us.

Anything not covered here — call the yard. Someone who actually knows the answer will pick up.

Yes. We regularly despatch across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, and handle bulk timber orders nationwide. Delivery is quoted with your estimate.

That is most of what we do. Send drawings in any format — DWG, PDF or a dimensioned sketch — and we will return a costed shop drawing before cutting anything.

Standard doors from stock ship in a few days. Bespoke CNC screens, carved work and full interiors typically run three to six weeks depending on finish and volume.

Always. Every board is chemically treated against borer and termite and kiln-seasoned to a stable moisture content before it is machined or sold.

Yes — turnkey fit-outs including kitchens, wardrobes, panelling, ceilings and staircases, installed by our own team rather than subcontracted out.

Chinnammal Timber Ventures on Sathy Main Road, Saravanampatti, Coimbatore 641035, supplies wooden doors across Coimbatore and the surrounding belt. Stock ranges from flush and moulded doors to solid Burma teak and hand-carved pooja doors, with frames, hardware and fitting available together. Open Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 7 pm — call +91 98422 15953.

For a main door in the Coimbatore climate, Burma teak is the benchmark — oily, dimensionally stable and naturally borer-resistant. African teak and iroko are a hard-wearing step down in price; honne and benteak suit internal doors and frames well. For bathrooms and utility areas, WPC or PVC outperforms any timber because humidity does not affect it. What matters more than species is seasoning: unseasoned timber of any grade will twist within two monsoons.

Yes. Chinnammal Timber cuts custom doors, jaali screens, partitions, temple units and panelling on its own CNC routers from your drawing, a reference photograph, or a design drafted in-house. Send DWG, DXF, PDF or a dimensioned sketch and a costed shop drawing comes back before anything is cut. Bespoke CNC work typically takes three to six weeks.

Chinnammal Timber Ventures builds and installs modular kitchens and fitted wardrobes in Coimbatore, using marine or BWR ply and WPC carcasses with laminate, acrylic, PU or natural veneer shutters. Because the same firm mills the timber, presses the panels and fits the units, there is one point of accountability rather than a chain of subcontractors.

Yes, always. Every board is kiln-seasoned to a stable moisture content and chemically treated against borer and termite before it is machined or sold. The yard also seasons and treats timber that customers bring in themselves as job work, and moisture content can be checked with a meter on request.

Yes. Chinnammal Timber despatches regularly across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka — including Tiruppur, Erode, Pollachi, Mettupalayam, Avinashi and the Nilgiris — and handles bulk timber orders nationwide. Delivery is quoted with the estimate rather than charged as a surprise.

That is most of the work. Drawings are accepted in any format — DWG, PDF or a dimensioned sketch — and a costed shop drawing is returned for approval before cutting begins. The firm works directly with architects, interior designers and builders across Coimbatore.

Since 1970 — more than fifty years in the Coimbatore timber trade, from a 75,000 sq ft yard and workshop at Saravanampatti. Timber is imported directly from Burma, Africa, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Yes. Alongside sawn timber and logs, the yard stocks marine, BWR and commercial plywood, MDF, WPC and block board, decorative laminates and natural veneers, and a full range of door and window hardware — locks, handles, hinges, bolts, closers and kitchen fittings.

Chinnammal Timber sells mill by-products rather than buying them: planer shavings, sawdust, wood chips, bark and slab wood, offcuts and firewood, all available in bulk by weight from the Saravanampatti yard.
